December 29th 2017: here we are !
Following our first travel to Haiti to start our activities, a second travel from December 17th to December 31st finally made it possible to inaugurate a first CAEJ in Haiti. Indeed, after several days of completion of renovations, we proceeded to the opening of the Center in front of an attendance of about fifty people, including nearly half of the young people of the locality of Dumay.
A presentation of the objectives of the organization was made with the assistance, followed by a free snack offered to all.
The Center is open two days a week, on Wednesdays and Fridays. Due to lack of resources, we could not offer more services at the moment.
To become known in the locality, we started with simple activities with young people: a session of help with homework, lectures on civility and good manners, and sports sessions. In addition, we will make every effort to provide, as we have always wished, a free meal for these young people who will be coming back from school and others who are lapping around, idle.
A list of 26 young people has been established to date. We are evaluating the possibility of splitting the group in half and dividing our resources so that we can better help them.
On the other hand, only the large multitasking room of the borrowed room was put into operation. Other rooms to be used as office, kitchen, computer room and library and rest will have to be arranged in order to increase our capacity of reception and service.
We thank you in advance for your support. Your donations, whether material (clothing, shoes, etc.), electronic, financial or volunteer will be gratefully accepted and shipped / used to achieve the objectives of the CAEJ.
